President McCain Means More Dead Kids and Soldiers

If we allow Senator McCain to be elected President, though our own actions or inaction, he will herald in an era of more dead kids and soldiers.  This won't be anything new, as President Bush has been perfectly willing to let more of our kids and soldiers die than ever was necessary.

John McCain opposes the expansion of SCHIP.  He called President Bush's veto of that expansion "the right call."  http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/10/03/m ccain.interview/index.html#cnnSTCVideo

John McCain is perfectly happy to have our presence in Iraq continue for as long as 100 years, depending on conditions.  He's toeing a very hard line on Iran and on Russia.  McCain's an honorable soldier who's biggest problem is that he thinks that the angry fist of military justice is almost always the appropriate response to any foreign problem or threat.

He's going to oppose health insurance for your kids.  He's all about sending your kids out to fight, kill, and die in conflicts we can avoid.  Elections have consequences.  Your vote has consequences.  If you think there are other concerns that matter more than these two, and others I will blog about later, well that's your choice.

Just don't pretend that we can well survive a McCain administration.  You might.  Others will not be so fortunate.

Tips? (2.00 / 2)

For honoring our collective responsibility to our children?  For only deploying our soldiers when we must?

But but but (1.00 / 1)

what about holding on to bitterness and identity politics?  Doesn't that mean anything to you?

People that wont be having children in the future or are too old to fight in wars or didnt have to sign up with the selective service dont care about us, only revenge, they can go to hell.

It is never enough, never (none / 0)

As long as Obama is trashed by people like Aliveandicking everyday and the hide rates are only handed out for people that post against Hillary on this site then it will never, ever be enough.

Re: Soldiers Die in War (none / 0)

The issue is not that soldiers are being killed.  If that were the case, you would have opposed several Democrats who took us to war, i.e. FDR, HST, and LBJ.  On the other hand, perhaps you would have or did not support any of these Presidents.  If you are a total pacifist make the argument against all wars and blame all Presidents, even those who are Democrats.

If you want to make an argument to end the war by saying that it is the wrong war at the wrong time, make that argument.

To say that continuing the war will cause more soldiers to die is not a good reason to end the war.  Most Americans are not total pacifists and they realize that war can be necessary and that soldiers will die when there is a war.  You might want to change your tactics and explain why we should not be at war.  That is a more relevant argument, even if it is an incorrect argument.
